Erdogan: "We don't want totalitarianism in Syria"

Amid a deadly crackdown against protesters in Syria, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan yesterday telephoned the county's President Bashar Assad to urge restraint as well as swift reforms. Turkey doesn't want totalitarianism or anti-democratic structures in Syria, Erdogan told Assad, just one day after speaking with US President Barack Obama on the telephone about the situation there.
