Erdogan remains focused on peace talks
Addressing the Justice and Development Party (AKP) deputies in a parliamentary group meeting on Tuesday, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said the talks are aimed at restoring peace in Turkey and that his government was determined to solve the terrorism problem even if it means drinking poison. "If the justice minister allowed Kurdish deputies to travel to Imrali Island, this was aimed at taking steps toward a solution. We have set our hearts on a solution. If this requires drinking hemlock poison, then we will drink it. It is solely for peace to come to this country," Erdogan said. Erdogan also criticized the Republican People's Party (CHP), the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) and the Peace and Democracy Party (BDP), saying that that the AKP government would not be engaged in any acts that hurt the slain soldiers and their families.
