Erdogan says positive developments happening

Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Sunday traveled to northwestern province of Gallipoli, along with several other ministers, to attend ceremonies to be held on Monday on the occasion of the 98th anniversary of the victory in the Battle of Gallipoli. Addressing the public, Erdogan stated that positive developments have been happening in the resolution of the long-standing Kurdish question in recent days and that Turkey is determined to eliminate terrorism from the country altogether. Erdogan also requested support from the entire country for the ongoing peace process to ensure unity and solidarity in Turkey. Stating that the Turkish government has been trying to preserve the spirit of Gallipoli since they came to power 10 years ago, Erdogan said that they have tried to keep alive the spirit of brotherhood which is evident on the gravestones of the martyrs in Gallipoli. "People who define themselves as nationalists have not had their share of the spirit and heritage of Gallipoli. Those who talk about peace and democracy have not seen the martyrs' gravestones on which the names of people from Van or Sanliurfa are written. Our government follows the footsteps of our martyrs," Erdogan added.
