Speaking about details of the NPR radio channel's interview with him, Prime Minister yesterday said that prior to his speech at the UN Security Council, he reminded US President Barack Obama of his speech at the 65th Session of the UN General Assembly last year. Erdogan said that he reiterated to his brother and friend Obama that he said he wanted to see Palestine as a recognized state at the UN General Assembly hall last year. Replying to a question whether the US' image in the Middle East will be damaged due to its stance on the Palestine issue at the UN, Erdogan said, "Obviously." Erdogan considered the current relationships between Turkey and Syria "not very promising" right now, saying that Turkey expected certain reforms to be carried out, but unfortunately Syrian President Bashar al-Assad wanted to keep his position and became increasingly aggressive and violent under these circumstances, instead of carrying out necessary reforms. Erdogan added that the current situation in Syria and Assad's stance are fully contradictory to our principles with which we approach people and humanity and that this is where friendship ends. Speaking about current relationships between Turkey and Israel, Erdogan reiterated three conditions, namely, an apology, compensation and elimination of the embargo upon Palestine, should be met by Israel in order to mend the relationships between the two countries.
