Erdogan to visit New York

Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan will arrive in New York today to attend meetings of the 66th Session of the UN General Assembly. Erdogan will address the General Assembly, mostly speaking about the famine in Africa, and stay in New York for five days to hold approximately 20 bilateral meetings. He will also hold a meeting with US President Barack Obama, in which such issues as Syria, Libya, NATO missile defense system, Middle East and Turkish-Israeli relations will be discussed. Reportedly, many leaders who are to visit New York to attend the meetings have requested to meet with Erdogan to learn his observations with regard to his visit to northern Africa.
