Erdogan: We are ready to take part in any coalition
On his way to attend the G20 summit in St. Petersburg, Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan made some statements on the recent developments in Syria at Esenboga Airport. Erdogan said Turkey’s role in the military action against Syria would be shaped by the then conditions and Turkey was ready to take part in any coalition. Regarding Obama taking the issue to the Senate, Erdogan said it was a domestic political decision. Erdogan also commented on Russian President Putin’s remarks that Russia would back a UN decision for military action if use of chemical weapons were proved, saying it is weird that Putin opposed military action but changed position only when chemical weapons were employed. Erdogan also warned Assad that he should leave the country, adding it was hard to understand his remarks on Turkey.
