Erdogan welcomes Oney's suggestion family centers
German Baden-Wurttemberg State's Integration Minister Bilkay Oney, who was received by Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the Governors' Mansion in Ankara yesterday, requested help from Erdogan to give an end to domestic violence incidents which are suffered predominantly by Turkish women living in Germany. Oney suggested that intergovernmental efforts are exerted on the issue in accordance with legislations of the two countries. Oney said that family centers have made considerable contributions to the process of Turkish people's integration into Germany and requested Erdogan to especially discuss the issue of increasing the number of these centers with officials from German government. Reportedly, Oney's idea was well received by Erdogan. During the meeting, Family and Social Policies Minister Fatma Sahin was also present.
