Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) President Dervis Eroglu paid a courtesy visit to the Zaman daily office on Saturday. Speaking on the sidelines of his visit, Eroglu said that a deadline must be placed for the negotiations on the divided island. Stating that negotiations have been stopped on the 1st of July on the basis of remarks made by UN Secretary General Ban-ki Moon who said that if a solution was not found by July 1, they cannot wait until the end, Eroglu stressed that they would be able to continue with negotiations with the new administration following the presidential elections to be held in the Greek Cypriot administration in February. "The Cyprus issue has been discussed thoroughly," Eroglu said, suggesting that a time limit is put so that Turkish Cypriots and the entire world have an idea about what will happen in case negotiations fail at the end of that time limit
