EU to open new chapter with Turkey

Both European Union Term President Spain and Turkey have completed work on the food safety and phytosanitation chapter and sent it to the EU. The EU is expected to pass a common stance document tomorrow. If the process is completed without any problems, Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, Chief EU Talks Negotiator Egemen Bagis and Agriculture Minister Mehdi Eker will take part in an intergovernmental conference to be held tomorrow on behalf of Turkey. With food safety and phytosanitation, the chapters opened by Turkey since 2005 will rise to 13.
