Expo 2000 candidate Izmir exerts promotion efforts in Paris

Izmir, a candidate city for Expo 2020, yesterday made a presentation at the International Expositions Bureau (BIE) in Paris. Speaking to reporters prior to presentation, Secretary General of the BIE Vincente Gonzales Loscertales said that Izmir was this time very likely to host Expo 2000.  The presentation also involved in Culture and Tourism Minister Ertugrul Gunay, Governor of Izmir Cahit Kirac and Republican People's Party (CHP) deputy Safak Payev. Speaking on the sidelines of Izmir's presentation, Gunay promised on behalf of the Turkish government that Izmir would host one of the most unforgettable Expo 2000 events. Izmir is set to make its fourth presentation on the issue in June and the winner country will be announced in November 2013.
