Foreign Ministery denies illegal arms shipment from Turkey to Yemen
Turkish Foreign Ministry denied the allegations that illegal arms shipment was made from Turkey to Yemen by vessels. Foreign Ministry spokesman Selcuk Unal said on Monday that Turkey has not given permission for such a shipment, adding that the mentioned cargo was sent by a Turkish company and submitted as biscuits in the customs. There were allegations that 3,000 guns, automatic weapons and silencers have been found in a cargo which was sent from Turkey by a ship to Port of Aden in Yemen and that Turkey was transferring illegal weapons secretly to Yemen. Unal said that all of the related institutions and offices were carrying out an investigation on the issue, and denied the news claiming Turkey was sending weapons to Yemen.
