Turkey, fresh from its successful 2-year UN Security Council temporary membership, which ended with the New Year, is reportedly set to seek another term. According to diplomatic sources, Ankara will seek a seat for 2015-2016 or 2019-2020, competing against Belgium and Israel for the earlier period, but Turkey's chances are reportedly better. Ankara is said to already be drumming up support for 2015-2016.
