Gaziantep to host 2nd Zeugma Film Festival
The second edition of the International Zeugma Film Festival in the southeastern city of Gaziantep will kick off on Wednesday. The festival, which takes its name from the ancient town of Zeugma, will see a gala event that will begin with an award ceremony at Gaziantep's Kendirli Gazi Cultural Center. Veteran actress Selda Alkor and eminent director Erden Kiral, who is behind such classics as "Bereketli Topraklar Uzerinde" (On Fertile Lands) and "Hakkari'de Bir Mevsim" (A Season in Hakkari), will be honored with the festival's Lifetime Achievement awards. Following the ceremony, Kiral's 2012 film "Yuk" (Load) -- an investigation of guilt, fear and revenge, along with love -- will be screened at the gala ceremony with the attendance of the film's cast and crew members. Among the festival offerings are Bruno Dumont's "Camille Claudel 1915," Julie Delpy's "2 Days in Paris" and Claude Miller's "Therese Desqueyroux." The festival will run until Oct. 6.
