Greek minority school to b reopened in Gokceada
Turkish Education Ministry yesterday approved Greek minority's request for reopening of a Greek minority school on the island of Gokceada, which has been closed for 48 years due to limited number of students. Speaking to the Milliyet daily, Lakis Vingas, representative of the Minorities' Foundations at the Turkish General Directorate of Foundations, said that reopening of the Greek minority school on their homeland would give them the opportunity of returning there with their families and children from Greece. Vingas defined the approval of request as a symbol of hope for the future.
