Gul and Edogan congratulate Abbas

Palestine has been granted the status of "non-member observer state" at the voting held by the UN General Assembly, in which 183 countries voted in favor of the Palestine's bid, nine voted against and 41 countries abstained. Following the voting, President Abdullah Gul and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan phoned Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to congratulate him.
