Gul, Erdogan issue a message on the occasion of labor day

President Abdullah Gul yesterday issued a message on the occasion of the Labor Day. Stating that he wishes the Labor Day is always celebrated in a festive air, Gul said, "I hope May 1 will be adopted by the society as a day in which people smile and cherish hope for the future and leave sad memories behind." Gul added that all the problems could be always solved with common sense and mutual understanding, consensus and dialogue under all circumstances. Issuing a message, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that they have been exerting efforts to solve the problems of laborers in consultation with labor unions and non-governmental organizations, as they consider laborers’ issues as their own problems.
