Gul receives Berdimuhamedov in Istanbul
As part of an unofficial visit, Turkmen President Gurbanguli Berdimuhamedov yesterday arrived in Istanbul's Ataturk Airport, where he was received by his Turkish counterpart Abdullah Gul. Afterwards, the two leaders proceeded to the Ambarli Port on Istanbul's Beylikduzu shore, and received information about the facilities by Deputy Undersecretary Suat Hayri Aka of the Ministry of Transportation, Maritime Affairs and Communication. As part of their program, the two leaders, accompanied by Economy Minister Zafer Caglayan and Istanbul Governor Huseyin Avni Mutlu, also explored Marport at the Ambarli Port facilities and reviewed a model port upon the request of Berdimuhamedov, who is preparing to build a new port on the Caspian coast. In the evening, Berdimuhamedov attended an iftar (fast-breaking meal) which was hosted by Gul in honor of Berdimuhammedow at Tarabya Palace, Istanbul.
