President Abdullah Gul received a delegation of the International Investors Association (YASED) at the Cankaya Presidential Palace on Wednesday. During the meeting, Gul said that the reform process in Turkey would continue and that the ongoing incidents in Turkey were totally different from those in the Middle East. Underlining that Turkey is a country on the path toward the membership in the EU, Gul said that Turkey will not regress from the level it has achieved. Stating that similar events have also occurred in Western countries, Gul said, "Some police may have used disproportionate force against people, but it has been brought under control. Turkey has not gone through irreversible results. Do not be concerned about the future of Turkey. The political and economic stability in our country will continue." As part of the meeting, members of the YASED delegation noted that growth and stability should be protected so that the investment environment is improved and investors' confidence is promoted.
