Gul receives Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan
President Abdullah Gul yesterday received Kyrgyz Prime Minister Omurbek Babanov and an accompanying delegation in Istanbul. The meeting which was held at the Tarabya Palace and lasted around one hour was closed to the press. Babanov noted that they, after concluding the democratic transformation process in his country, focused on the reconstruction of Kyrgyzstan. Babanov also reiterated their expectation that Turkey will continue to lend her corroboration for his country. Asking his Kyrgyz guest to convey his best wishes to President Atambayev, President Gül proclaimed Kyrgyzstan to be the first country to have successfully concluded the democratic transformation process, promising that Turkey’s support for Kyrgyzstan will continue. Babanov came to Istanbul to attend the World Economic Forum.
