Gul to addres the Parliament as President for the last time

The new legislation year will kick off with a speech to be made by President Abdullah Gul at the plenary session of the Parliament which will convene at 3 pm today. Following the ceremony at Ataturk's mausoleum (Anitkabir), Parliament Speaker Cemil Cicek will inaugurate the session. President Abdullah Gul, whose term of office will end in August 2014, will deliver his opening speech, which will be a farewell address to the Parliament and its members. The motion on Syria to be discussed on Thursday will be the first issue on the Parliament agenda.
