President Abdullah Gul on Monday visited Turkey's state-run TRT Television Channel in Ankara. Welcomed by Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc and TRT General Director Ibrahim Sahin and other officials upon his arrival at the institution and informed about the activities and history of TRT, Gul enjoyed a short film telling of his life. Gul also held the opening of the TRT Broadcasting History Museum and received information about certain devices, including the radio microphone which was used by Mustafa Kemal Ataurk during the ceremonies held on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Republic in 1933. Stating that the museum updates and informs visitors about the fast change in the reporting and information technologies, Gul said, "At some point, this is the history of Turkey's modernization and process in technology."
