Culture and Tourism Minister Ertugrul Gunay yesterday attended the 6th International Conference on Destination Management which was organized by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) in Tunisia's Djerba Island. Speaking to reporters following the conference, Gunay suggested a new pattern for the Mediterranean tourism.  "Europe is of course an important market, but it's getting old and tired. We have to replace Europe. There are big economies opening to new markets and the world. For example, there are China, India, Malaysia and Latin America. We need to bring together the tourists who will come from distant markets in joint destination programs. We are working on creating destinations to ensure that people from remote centers of the world could jointly visit Tunisia, Istanbul, Cairo, Izmir and Athens."
