Ihsanoglu-Headed OIC set to establish human rights comission

The Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC), which has been undergoing a reform process spearheaded by its secretary-general, Turkish scholar Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, has completed its work to establish a Human Rights Commission. This independent commission supported by the 57 member countries is meant to promote human rights in the Islamic world, and its plan will be submitted for the approval of OIC foreign ministers at a meeting in Tajikistan later this month.
