In Iran, Davutoglu to push peaceful resolution of nuclear controversy
Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, currently in Tehran, is expected to hold talks today with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and his Iranian counterpart Manouchehr Mottaki. Davutoglu is expected to reiterate that the controversy over Iran's nuclear program should be solved through diplomatic means, and that while it's every country's right to use nuclear energy for peaceful purposes, Turkey is opposed to nuclear armaments in its region. A failure to resolve the controversy could lead to an embargo of Iran, he is expected to warn. Last week tension grew after Iran announced it is working to produce 20 percent enriched uranium.
