In Washington, opposition CHP lawmakers meet with US officials
A group of senior lawmakers from the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) this week visited US officials in Washington. The group got a warm welcome in the US capital. The lawmakers met with Republican Senator John McCain, who unsuccessfully ran for president against Barack Obama in 2008. McCain said he would like to visit Turkey and meet CHP leader Kemal Kilicdaroglu before its parliamentary elections this June. The CHP lawmakers also met with advisors to Vice President Joe Biden.
