An Israeli ship delivered dozens of housing containers sufficient to house up to 1,000 people left homeless after recent earthquakes in the eastern province of Van. "Israel stands ready to convey more assistance," the Israeli embassy said in a statement yesterday. An Israeli cargo ship carrying mobile homes unloaded humanitarian aid Nov. 18 at the Mersin port in southern Turkey. Israel, in coordination with the Turkish government, sent more than 50 prefabricated houses and dozens of containers to help quake victims facing winter conditions, the embassy statement said. Israel is ready to extend more support if necessary, the embassy added.
