Trade ties with Turkey were crucial for Israel and mutual trade was to the particular advantage of Turkey, according to Moshe Kamhi, Israel’s Consulate General to Istanbul. Israel was willing to boost the volume of its trade with Turkey, Kamhi also said during his visit to the Aegean Exporters’ Union in the western province of Izmir on Dec. 12. Israel wanted to expand trade relations in every sector, Kamhi said, adding that agriculture was one sector in which there were no concrete projects and a relationship between the two countries in this segment would be advantageous to both countries.Ties between Turkey and Israel are dense since an Israeli commando’s deadly attack on an aid ship bound for the Gaza Strip on May 31, 2010.
