Istanbul to host design geniuses in february

Oscar-nominated filmmaker Darren Aronofsky, advertising legend George Lois and world-famous industrial designer-architect Ron Arad will be in Istanbul next month for a two-day international conference and fair on design, the event's organizers announced yesterday. The Alldesign 2013 conference is scheduled for Feb. 22-23 at the Hilton Convention Center, concurrently with the creative industries fair of the same name, organized by the Istanbul-based Turkel Fuarcılık Inc. The conference and fair seek to highlight the importance of design in all areas of life, with "Seeing through the Mind's Eye" as their motto. Designers from various disciplines, ranging from architecture to performing arts and from industrial products to night clubs, will be in attendance at the two-day event, which will also see participation from Turkish designers, filmmakers and actors.
