Istanbul to host prominent scientists
The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK) will bring together 130 world-renowned scientists and 70 representatives from the public and private sector and universities in Istanbul for the second time as part of the "Congress for Turkish Scientists Living Abroad" in order to discuss Turkey’s initiatives in science and the necessary steps to be taken in the fields of technology transfer, education, health and energy to make Turkey a center of attraction. A statement from TUBITAK said that six different panel discussions will be held and participants will be allowed to voice their observations and make suggestions for mechanisms to enable the transfer of knowledge and technology to Turkey. The congress will be held on July 4 and 5. The congress will also be attended by Science, Industry and Technology Minister Nihat Ergun and TUBITAK Chairman Yucel Altunbasak.
