Japan's economy newspaper Nihon Keizai Shimbun (Nikkei) wrote that Turkey and Japan would cooperate and head towards infrastructure projects in the Middle East. The headline says that an agreement will be reached to initiate negotiations on the ministerial level in May and meetings will be held with regard to a concrete framework aimed at undertaking joint projects with participation of representatives from companies which are located in both countries. Stating that Japanese companies' capital and technology will be combined with Turkey's information network to compete with China and South Korea, the Nikkei says that Turkey and Japan will evaluate cooperation opportunities related to construction of an electricity power production plant, highway and hospital in Iraq in its post-war era.
