In reply to reporters' questions about recent killings of Chechens in Istanbul, Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov said that he has never supported those murders. "Please tell the Chechen people living in Turkey that we don't want to fight anymore. Let others fight. We now want our children to become scientists, artists, engineers, physicians and sportsmen and provide our people with a happy life," said Kadyrov. Stating that they have lost a lot due to the war, Kadyrov said, "Turkey knows what terrorism means, because it has lost 30,000 citizens because of this. Similarly, hundreds of thousands of people were killed in Chechnya. I have visited Turkey twice along with Russian President and met with President Abdullah Gul and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan. I have asked them to extradite criminal Chechen people living in Turkey, but they were not extradited. Some Chechens cause trouble both to Turkey and Chechnya with the money they collect in Turkey. I request the Turkish Republic to impose legal requirements on those people." Kadyrov defined Erdogan as a great value for the Islam world, saying that he will be able to make political and economic contributions thanks to his recent moves and policies. Kadyrov also called on Turkish businessmen to continue their investments in Chechnya, adding that they will apply to Turkish Foreign Ministry to open a representative in Turkey.
