Kerry to arrive in Ankara on friday
US Secretary of State John Kerry will arrive in Ankara tomorrow as part of his first official trips abroad. During his visit, Kerry will attend a commemoration ceremony for Mustafa Akarsu, the local guard at the US Embassy in Ankara who was killedin the suicide attack in February, and meet with his family. Kerry will also meet with President Abdullah Gul, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu. As part of official talks, Davutoglu and Kerry are expected to discuss the relations between Ankara and Baghdad, and Davutoglu is set to reiterate that over 60,000 people were killed in Syria and the US should now actively take initiative. Other issues on Kerry's agenda include the Arab Spring, Turkey's relations with Israel and Armenia, as well as the freedom of press.
