Lise Kjaer, a leading global futurist, said that Turkey's history and characteristics of Turkish people were distinct, compared to other countries, especially the West. Speaking on the sidelines of a summit on local chains, Kjaer said, "You are so real, not artificial like Western people. You will become the seventh largest economy in the world before the year 2030 which was predicted by IMF. You will allow immigrants and immigration more than we expect you to do. Turkish people are a real model of global person." For his part, Retailer Federation of Turkey Chairman Selamet Aygun said that local chains aimed to achieve a turnover amounting to 70 billion TL until 2023.
