As a part of his official contacts in Kuwait, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu met Kuwaiti Prime Minister Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. Upon his visits, Davutoglu and high-ranking Kuwaiti officials signed the Action Plan for Cooperation between Turkey and Kuwait. "Our relations have significantly improved in the last decade. Our current trade volume with Kuwait amounts to $569 million and we expect it to reach $1 billion by 2016. We have agreed to cooperate in 13 different areas," Davutoglu reported upon the meeting. As a part of the Action Plan, Turkish citizens will be able to get visa on their arrival in Kuwait right on the border effective as of 1 November. A Memorandum of Understanding has also been reportedly signed in order to set up a joint committee for cooperation between the two countries.
