The Kyrgyz-Turkish Trade and Investment Forum was held by the Confederation of Businessmen and Industrialists of Turkey (TUSKON) in Bishkek yesterday with the participation of approximately 200 businessmen from Turkey. Speaking at the Forum, TUSKON Chairman Rizanur Meral said that Kyrgyzstan had a great potential in spheres of agriculture, tourism and food, adding that import from Kyrgyzstan to Turkey totaled $47.5 million and export from Turkey to this country amounted to $164 million in 2011.  Stating that Kyrgyzstan owns 420 tons of gold reserves, Kyrgyz Prime Minister Omurbek Babanov called on Turkish businessmen to operate his country's gold mines and make investments particularly in this field.
