Libya promises to compensate loses of Turkish businesspeople

President of the General National Congress of Libya Mohamed Yousef el-Magariaf who was in Turkey to hold official contacts said that his country would compensate the losses of Turkish businesspeople during their operations in Libya. El-Magariaf and an accompanying delegation attended the Turkey-Libya working dinner which was hosted by the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK) and the Turkey-Libyan Business Council at Ciragan Palace in Istanbul. Speaking on the sidelines of the event, el-Magariaf said that the rights of all companies operating in Libya would be preserved. Stating that many companies suffered economic losses to various degrees, el-Magariaf said that Libya had no intention of violating the rights of any company operating in the country. El-Magarif also said that Libya was experiencing both economic and political reconstruction, adding, "The country will benefit from Turkey's economic, political and democratic experience and the help of Turkish businesses will be critical during this time."
