Louvre spotlights Turkey in three new exhibits
Paris' Louvre museum is currently showing three exhibits as part of activities for Turkish Season in France. The opening ceremony for the exhibits was attended by many guests, including Turkish Ambassador to France Osman Koruturk, Louvre Director Henri Loyrette, and Topkapi Palace head Ilber Ortayli. The first exhibit features robes and clothes of Ottoman sultans from the Topkapi Palace through the centuries, while the other shows spotlight archeological finds from excavations in Kadifekale, Izmir and Alacahoyuk, Corum. All three run through next January.
