Morocco's 'AKP' pledges to form its own model
New Moroccan Prime Minister Abdelilah Benkirane of the Justice and Development Party (PJD) said he admired the Turkish model of the Justice and Development Party (AKP) and hoped his party would have its own model of the faction. Benkirane has been likened to Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan due to similarities of both leaders' party emblems, their claims to favor moderate Islam and the same name of political parties." The Justice and Development Party was first established in Morocco. If the Justice and Development Party succeeded in Turkey, Morocco's Justice and Development Party could do the same," Benkirane said. He also congratulated Turkey for its stance on Syria. Benkirane said his party's priorities were facilitating stability, protecting the monarchy and carrying out the reforms needed by the country. He said that Morocco also suffered fundamental problems with regard to employment, education and health. The PJD captured 107 seats out of 395 seats. Benkirane is currently holding talks with other political parties in Morocco to establish a coalition government. He is expected to form his cabinet in two weeks.
