US media giant Rupert Murdoch has demanded support from Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan in a meeting at the Prime Minister's office yesterday, saying that they look for expanding their investments. "We regard Turkey as a significant country in terms of media sector. We aspire to increase our investments here," Murdoch said, adding that he has been active in Turkey's media sector for the last five years. Murdoch also presented a gift to Erdogan, namely, a book entitled The Empty Quarter by British author Jack Philby which consists of the information told by his guides to Philby, while he was attempting to explore the warmest and most deserted area called Rub'ul Hali (The Empty Quarter) in Arab Peninsula.
