Nabucco support aggreements to be signed today
Project support agreements for the Nabucco natural gas pipeline will be signed today in the central Anatolian province of Kayseri. The ceremony will include the participation of the Nabucco companies as well as the responsible ministries of the five transit countries: Austria, Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania and Turkey. The main elements of the agreements are the affirmation of an advantageous regulatory transit regime under European Union and Turkish energy law; the protection of Nabucco from potential discriminatory changes in the law; and support for legislative and administrative actions for further implementation of the project. The pacts also mark a commitment by each government to support the project. Nabucco is the new gas bridge from Asia to Europe. It is set to directly connect the world's richest gas regions to European consumer markets.
