New legislative year starts on Thursday

Parliament will start its new legislative year on Thursday. President Abdullah Gul will deliver a speech to the full Parliament marking the event. Parliament Speaker Mehmet Ali Sahin will also host a reception. The first two issues to be taken up in Parliament will be the government's democratic initiative and an agreement on normalized ties with Armenia expected to be signed next month.
