Parliament speaker Cicek arrives in Indonesia

Parliament Speaker Cemil Cicek yesterday arrived in Palembang, Indonesia to attend the 7th conference of Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Islamic Cooperation (PAOIC). As part of his visit, Cicek met with House of Representatives' Speaker Marzuki Alie and stressed the importance of mutual visits. Stating that certain PAOIC member countries fail to pay the dues on a timely basis, Alie said that it would be useful, if countries such as Turkey provided support on the issue. Speaking in his part, Cicek said that Turkey has always been sensitive about foreign aid. Cicek reiterated that Turkey has provided foreign aid totaling $2 billion in one year, adding that the proposal could be taken into consideration.
