Parliament to begin new legislative year today

The Parliament will begin its new legislative year today.  The first related ceremony will be held at Ataturk's monument in the Parliament to be attended by Parliament Speaker and Parliament members. Afterwards, the plenary session will convene with the chairmanship of Cicek and then President Abdullah Gul will take the stage to make a speech.  The agenda of this week will mostly deal with a government motion for a one-year extension of the Turkish military's authorization to stage cross-border operations.
