PM chairs Supreme Military Council meeting in Ankara
Following his Nov. 26 operation in Istanbul, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan yesterday chaired the Supreme Military Council (YAS) meeting at the General Staff headquarters in Ankara in which the internal security operation, as well as activities carried out by the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) with regard to border security were discussed, combat readiness of TSK was evaluated and the needs which have emerged within this framework, as well as the measures aimed at fulfilling these needs were assessed. Following the YAS meeting, Erdogan proceeded to attend the plenary session of Parliament, where he was warmly applauded. The group deputy chairmen from the Republican People's Party (CHP), Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) and Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) went up to Erdogan to wish him get well soon. In reply to reporters' questions about his state of health, Erdogan said that he was just fine and will be much better.
