PM Erdogan due in Syria today

Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan will visit Syria today to speak with its President Bashar Assad about ways to restart Turkish-mediated talks between Syria and Israel . Erdogan will first travel to Aleppo , where he is scheduled to deliver an address and receive an honorary doctorate. He is then due to meet with Assad. Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu will accompany Erdogan on his one-day trip.
