The world should carefully analyze the lessons of the recent global financial crisis so as to prevent future crises and minimize their impact, said Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan yesterday. "The world should read the message of the global financial crisis, and we need to evaluate this carefully," Erdogan told a roundtable meeting on technological efficiency which he chaired during the G20 summit in Seoul, South Korea. "Social improvements should not suffer when economies grow. Also, welfare should be globalized when capital globalizes. In order to prevent further crises and damage, we should analyze the message of the crisis. We also need to spend time solving problems in social and environmental development. Poverty, insufficient healthcare, high unemployment, and climate change are some of the problems that we need to work on." Erdogan also underlined that the public sector should cooperate with nongovernmental organizations, as reaching goals such as economic and social development without the support of both the public and private sectors is impossible.
