PM Erdogan to Embark on tour of Baku, Kiev, Sarajevo
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan will pay consecutive visits to Baku, Kiev and Sarajevo next month; in Baku and Kiev he will co-chair the second meetings of the high-level strategic cooperation councils established with these countries. While in Sarajevo, he will receive an award named after the founder of Sarajevo, Isa Beg Ishakovic. The first stop of the three-country tour will be Azerbaijan on Sept. 11, with the tour ending on Sept. 15, the prime minister’s press office announced late on Aug. 29. The High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council meeting in Baku will be co-chaired by Erdogan and Azeri President Ilham Aliyev. He will depart for an official visit to Kiev on Sept. 12, where, along with Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych, he will co-chair the council meeting. During the visit to Kiev, Erdogan also plans to hold talks in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea on Sept. 14 and attend the ninth annual meeting of the Yalta European Strategy (YES) as a guest of honor and deliver a speech. Erdogan will proceed to Bosnia-Herzegovina for a two-day visit during which he will receive the Isa Beg Ishakovic award. While in Sarajevo, he will also hold talks with Bosnian-Herzegovian officials.
