PM Erdogan welcomes finnish counterpart amid storm

Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan welcomed Finnish Prime Minister Jyrki Katainen at Prime Ministry with an official ceremony amid storm and cloud of dust yesterday. At the ceremony held at Central Building of Prime Ministry, Jyrki Katainen saluted the escort of honor following the playing of national anthems of the two countries. Two prime ministers later made both private and inter-delegation meetings. During the press conference held afterwards, two leaders answered the questions. While Katainen gave information about the economy of his country, Erdogan touched on the issue of Syria, saying, "I would like to express that we support Annan’s plan. For his part, Katainen referred to relations between the EU and Turkey, saying, "The future of the EU and Turkey will meet in common ground." Katainen who praised both Turkey and Erdogan also emphasized that Turkey has become a super power in terms of foreign policy. "Turkey is very important for us, because it is a super power in foreign policy. The position of Turkey is very significant for the entire world. You have many important and influential diplomatic structures and figures. You have modernized your country in a very short time." Katainen said.
