Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan who is visiting Africa this week has attended Niger's traditional Bianou and Tande festival. Tuaregs coming from Agadez region gave a camel to Erdogan as a present.  Speaking during his Niger visit, Erdogan said that President Mahamadou Issoufou's first demand in the beginning of the visit was the construction of 450 kilometer-long double lane road connecting Niamey and Istanbulewa. "My dear brother Mr.Issoufou told me a single lane road would be enough, but we said 'no' because we are used to building double lane roads," Erdogan said.  Meanwhile, British daily, Independent pointed to Erdogan's entourage including 300 business leaders from rapidly growing nation. "The huge delegation highlights how Turkey, one of the world's 20 biggest economies, has become a global player in recent years. It also underscores the importance of Africa in the emerging new world order. This is why Turkey has opened 19 embassies across the continent in three years, helping it boost trade with sub-Saharan Africa tenfold in just over a decade. It aims to triple it again by 2015," Independent said.
