President Gul hosts Republic day reception

On the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the foundation of the Republic of Turkey, President Abdullah Gul and First Lady Hayrunnisa Gul held a reception at the Cankaya Presidential Palace. Welcoming their guests at the entrance of the reception hall, President Gul also received celebrations on his birthday, coinciding with the National Day. A number of invitees including top state officials, businessmen, artists, athletes and journalists participated in the reception including Necdet Ozel, Chief of the Turkish General Staff, Kemal Kilicdaroglu and Devlet Bahceli, leaders of the opposition parties and Semra Ozal, wife of the late President Turgut Ozal.
